I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to publicize next month's bout.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest financial successes, frequently receiving massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
