This young athlete has impressive social media presence

The young golfer will have plenty of well-known supporters as she starts her LPGA debut on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to compete at the Annika competition in Florida.

The former president, a passionate golfer, operates multiple international courses and regularly competes against his granddaughter.

"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we play tight competitions," she mentioned.

Kai explained that Trump, unable to come, told her: "Just avoid anxiety."

"My grandpa practically advised me to go out there and enjoy myself," she explained.

"To me, he's just an ordinary family member. He's not attending for the tournament. He's occupied with world affairs, so he's somewhat preoccupied."

While still amateur, the golfer has participated in only three events recently and has ranking 461 in AJGA standings.

However she's able to receive tips from 15-time major champion, romantically involved with Kai's mother.

"He is the top athlete in the world," Kai expressed.

"And he's a superior individual. He suggested me to play, relax, and go with the flow."

She'll challenge multiple most prominent players in the sport at the competition, featuring world number two the champion, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.

Officials mentioned that involving Kai brings golf to new audiences, particularly among the next generation.

The social media influencer has a massive following and recently launched an exclusive fashion and living brand.

The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
